The postal path runs along the eastern side of Flyndersø, between Ådalstien and the path at Snævringen. The path was originally established so that the mail could easily reach the heath landscape in the old days. Between the path and the lake, a wide channel can be seen in many places. The channel is a canal that was dug in the 1870s in connection with the attempt to drain Flyndersø for the reclamation of new agricultural land. This was unsuccessful, as the lake is up to 11 m deep and is fed by many underground springs.
