Calc Camino - White route

The stretch is approximately 30 km, of which 24 km are covered by fields and gravel roads as well as footpaths. So remember to wear good footwear. Follow the white directional arrows and the blue sign with the white bat, which is the symbol of the Kalk Kamino. Along the way, several information boards will tell you more about what you encounter on your journey. You will pass, among other things, the limestone quarries in Mønsted and Daugbjerg and continue through the beautiful and unique Søgård Mose to Kongenshus Mindepark. The path leads over the heath to Grønhøj and further on to Skelhøje, known as the boundary of the Ice Age between flat heathland and moraine hills. The Kalk Kamino has been named because of the large limestone deposits, thousands of bats in the quarries, and the peat extraction that has characterized the culture of the area for centuries. The hiking trail also tells the story of the cultivation of the heath and the potato Germans on Alheden.
