The alternative route is a marked connection between Øhavsstien at Skerningegårdsvej in the west and Strandgårdsvej and Præstens Skov in the east. The route runs on country roads and provides hiking opportunities for Øhavssti users during high tide when hiking along the coast is hindered.
Be aware that there is no separate track for hikers, so the route is shared with the other traffic on the roads.
