The trail starts at Brålandsvej in Marstal, where it can be accessed via the Øhavsstien. It goes along an asphalt road through the village of Græsvænge to Ronæs, where after a couple of sharp turns it turns onto the road through Gråsten Nor. Gråsten Nor is a reclaimed area with high natural value. The asphalt is replaced after a short while by a field path. The field path is relatively wide and often marked by wheel tracks in the grass. The path can be uneven and soft during wet periods. The stage ends at the bicycle path at Østermark, where one can either continue to the right along Stage 2 of the Coastal Path toward Dunkærmark or turn left and follow the bicycle path back to Marstal.
