Gjern Bakker, Egekrat - shortcut

Access by car is available from Svostrupvej (sign: Kommuneplantage). There are two parking spaces, and at the upper one, there is a rest area. The route goes up a staircase, follows a steep slope, and then divides. The short route goes left to an oak grove with a view of Sminge Lake. The long route continues along the slope and makes a sharp left when it meets a forest road. Further ahead, you can see slopes with oak and beech thickets.

The red trail.

At the sign "Kommuneplantage" along the main road Svostrupvej you will find access to two parking provisions. At the upper parking provision is a picnic area equipped with tables and benches and a garbage bin. The track leads you up a flight of stairs and along a steep slope.
