Mastrup Ådalsruten

Mastrup Ådal is Støvring's green gem. The valley and stream stretch like a green vein through the town, providing life and variety to the entire area. You can experience striking birds by the stream, including kingfishers, dipper, and alpine accentors. In November and December, there are spawning sea trout in the stream, and you may be lucky enough to spot a wandering otter along the watercourse. Before urban development in the 1960s took off in Støvring, the valley was "out in the countryside." The lands belonged to several small farms. Slopes and valley floors were used for grazing. Today, nearly the entire valley between the railway and the road named Over Bækken is publicly owned with public access. The Mastrup Ådalsruten is the main traffic artery through the area but branches into a network of other small paths. The surface of the path is gravel, asphalt, and grass.
