The area around Store Troldhøj is situated high, and from here there is a picturesque view over Gjern Ådal, where the river winds through the well-defined valley. The route takes you through beautiful old oak thickets out to Troldhøj, which is part of a larger heath area. In parts of the route, there are sheep at times, and you need to go through gates in the fencing.
