Historical hiking route in Frederiksværk

The hiking route goes through historical cultural landscapes in Frederiksværk and simultaneously offers a beautiful nature experience with views of Arresø, the area's many historical sites, and landscapes known from Lundbye's paintings.

The route goes past, among other things, the Arsenal with information about the history of industry, Vinderød Church, the base for the former Royal Danish Rocket Corps, the platform at Ågabet with views of Arresø's rich bird life, as well as the ruins of Dronningholm Castle and the beaver observation hide at Dronningholm Mose.

You can either walk the red route of 11 km, the yellow route of 7 km, or the green route of 5 km.

The green route goes along roads and good paths, making it accessible for everyone - including those on wheels.

Both the red and yellow routes go along smaller paths and are hilly in several places. The routes can be completed by most people but require a good pair of shoes.

The route has been developed by the Industrial Museum Frederiks Værk and the National Park of the Kings of North Zealand in collaboration with the Nature Agency and the Danish Hiking Association.
