Bågø (5.5 km)

You have great opportunities to experience Bågø's landscape on a walk along 4 marked hiking trails of varying lengths. There are also good options for taking a break at one of the rest areas or enjoying the view from the birdwatching towers.

The hiking trails around the island are for everyone, but we recommend that those with mobility challenges and families with strollers use the paved paths.

The island offers many wonderful experiences. Anglers can fish from the coast, and families with children can enjoy the lovely child-friendly beaches. In addition, the island features large open landscapes, small forests, and shallow brackish water areas.

There is a very rich birdlife that you can observe from the two bird towers at Vestermosen and Noret. Here you can see, among other things, knots, eiders, little ringed plovers, and the large beautiful heron. White-tailed eagles, Ospreys, montagu's harrier, and lanner falcons also visit Bågø from time to time, so keep your eyes open, and you might be lucky enough to see them. Additionally, the island has a large population of roe deer, which are often seen grazing in the fields. In the salt marshes, you can find many different plants including yellow loosestrife, English grass, bluebell, sea wormwood, and sea kale.
