Dybdal Gårslev - Yellow route

NATURE

Dybdal is an incredibly beautiful landscape gem that, like a small valley, a meltwater valley from the last ice age, winds through the landscape. A biological island in a sea of cultivated agricultural land. In the middle of the valley, there is a unique type of nature, namely an alder swamp, which is a very rare type of nature in Europe. It can also be referred to as: “Beauty in decay.” Here, only nature prevails.

ALDER SWAMP

The valley consists of a grassland, which is the upper, dry part. At the bottom lies the wetland, a wet area. A percentage of Denmark's land consists of grasslands, but 30% of our plants grow here. Grassland is an area of grass that, in this case, has not been fertilized for a long time. This, along with grazing, creates good growth conditions for many interesting plants. A wetland can either be a “rich wetland” or a “poor wetland.” In Dybdal, there is a rich wetland, which means that the wetland here receives water from “below,” while a poor wetland only receives water from “above.” Because it is a rich wetland, you may be lucky to see orchids. The orchids are of course PROTECTED and therefore must not be picked or removed. If the area is not grazed, the place will quickly become overgrown with, among other things, blackberries, willows, and hawthorn, which will overshadow the beautiful and rare orchids. Therefore, you will often see grazing cattle in the meadow.

In Dybdal, there are three plots that are now owned by the residents of the only remaining house.
