Experience the beautiful manor landscape around Knuthenborg Estate as you walk along the wide, cultivation-free margins by the river. Hunseby and Maglemer are two villages that share a common history due to their close proximity. Both have been closely connected with Knuthenborg Estate, and the farms in the villages were originally all tenant farms under the estate. Hunsåen drains Maribo Nørresø, located southwest of Hunseby. The river flows through Knuthenborg Park and empties into the Småland Sea near Knuthenborg's main building. Maglemer means "the great clearing," and the village name Hunseby has roots in the personal name "Hund."
