Wheelchair-friendly sensory trail in Rosenkildeskoven

Quality path winding through a newer afforestation area, offering a wide variety of trees and shrubs that awaken the senses. Hence "The Sensory Forest". The route will be extended as the afforestation projects in Nordskoven expand.

You move along wide paths that are evenly compacted gravel. The paths are easy to navigate with both walkers and wheelchairs. Along the paths, there are tables and benches where you can either sit on benches or roll right up to the table with a wheelchair.

In 2017, the Rosenkildeskoven in Nordskoven was inaugurated. The forest spans 4.2 hectares and is directly adjacent to Rosenkildeparken. The forest was created in collaboration with Autism Center West, Special Center Slagelse, the user council in Nordskoven, and the Nature Agency.

The forest is planted with clusters of different trees that will provide various sensory impressions over time as you walk along the paths. There are rustling sounds from aspen, glowing white trunks of birch trees, and small-leaved lime trees that create a delightful interplay of light. There are also fruit trees and bushes that will provide different taste experiences.
