From the Bird Tower in Ribelund, there is a beautiful view over Ribe Østerå and a glimpse into Ribe's old town. From here, it is also possible - at certain times of the year - to observe the black sun at sunset. The surface from the parking lot to the bird tower consists mostly of even gravel. The ramp to the tower is made of wood with chicken wire for a more slip-resistant surface.
The wildlife reserve begins at Dagmarbroen and ends at Nipsvej and aims to provide a resting, feeding, and breeding area for waterfowl. The observation tower was erected in connection with the Year of the Disabled in 2004 and is suitable for wheelchair users.
