The route starts at the shelter area on Rævehøjvej. You walk through the small piece of woods down to the fjord, where you continue northwest along the beach around Hjerk Bjerg and further along the path towards Hjortholm to the west. On the way to Hjortholm, you pass Hjerk Nor on the left and over a bridge over Hjerk Nor. You continue out to the spit of land called Hjortholm. It entirely depends on the water level in the fjord how far you can go out on the spit.
The return trip follows the same route until you reach Lysenvej by a small parking lot. Here you turn right onto the dirt road and later left onto Rævehøjvej back to the starting point. The route is marked with yellow arrows.
Note: Parts of the route along the coast can be difficult to pass at high water levels in the fjord.
