The route is approximately 4.5 km and is located in St. Dyrehave. The walk goes around the forest's Parforce hunting roads and into the King's Star in the middle of the world heritage area. Strollers and dogs on a leash are allowed on the route. There are good parking facilities at the parking lot close to Fangfolden along Overdrevsvejen.
Fangfolden at the edge of the forest was once used for capturing the king's stud horses in the autumn, after they had grazed in St. Dyrehave's meadows all summer.
Kongestjernen is the center of the parforce landscape in Store Dyrehave.
