Dyrehaveruten

The Dyrehaveruten trail goes through areas of Dyrehaven with large old beech trees, in the area where the Skanderborg Festival - also known as Smukfest - is held every year at the beginning of August.

The route passes one of Denmark's perhaps most famous music stages - "Smukfest Bøgescenen". And in several places along the route, you will encounter quirky features related to the annual festival in the forest. However, the route also takes you through areas of Dyrehaven with old conifers and along Skanderborg Lake, where you have reeds and the lake on one side and the swamp forest on the former lake bed on the other side.

On the trip, you will also pass "Skanderborg Bunkerne" and "Skanderborg Vandrehjem" - as well as "Skanderborg Søbad", where you can take a dip in Skanderborg Lake from the bathing pier.

"Dyrehaveruten" is a gravel path marked with yellow pictograms. For a small stretch, it shares a route with "Skovturen", which is marked with light green pictograms.

A good starting point for the trip is the parking lot at Capri.

The route is closed off every year at the end of July and the beginning of August for a few weeks in connection with the Skanderborg Festival.
