The Ramsøstien trail goes through Ramsødalen, which is a landscape with grazed meadows, bogs, and lakes. A large part of the area is protected and also an EU bird sanctuary. From Gadstrup to Ramsømagle and from Ramsø Søgård to Ringstedvej at Øm, there is a marked hiking route of about 6 km. There are 2 bird towers along the route. Access is also available from Gøderup and from Kirke Syv. The route runs on both privately and publicly owned lands, primarily on lands owned by Copenhagen Energy. The path is made of grass or wood chips. In several places, it passes over stepping stones and a single staircase, making it impossible for strollers and wheelchairs to go all the way through.
