All the routes start from the parking lot, and the wide paths with good, solid surfaces twist in large arcs through the forest, constantly opening up new views, either to stretches of forest and clearings or to the hilly landscape outside the forest. The trail system is probably Denmark's first trail system designed so that hikers and mountain bikers can enjoy the same route without the fear of colliding. People on foot walk clockwise while cyclists go counterclockwise. This way, they meet in a way that doesn't require them to look over their shoulders to keep an eye on where the cyclists are. In some places, the elevation difference on the paths is 40 meters within a kilometer, making it quite steep.
