The Fyrreskoven in Hårup Sande was planted on the bare sand to stop the sand drift. Today it is an exciting forest with rare animals and plants. The area is particularly known for its good mushrooms, but there is much more to be found here, e.g., rare lichens and five-rayed wolf's foot.
Schoubyes Sø was dug when there was a lack of fill during the construction of the Ring Road.
Today, the area is a very popular excursion destination and also a breeding ground for thousands of common toads and a drinking place for the forest's animals.
