Næstved - Holmegaard Factory "The Glass Route", 11 km

On your way along the Suså River, which is Zealand's largest watercourse, you might be lucky enough to see the very colorful kingfisher.

In Vridsløse, you can experience a church ruin, and south of Stenskoven, the municipality has created a series of lakes that supply a small fine woodland stream with water in dry summer. The lakes attract many different birds and are always worth a visit.

In Fensmark, the route passes by the local pond, where you have the opportunity to take a little rest or buy supplies for the trip. Around the Church, a number of artists previously lived who worked at the glass factory, including the Bang family. The glassblowers lived in the glass town that surrounds the glass factory.

Holmegaard Works is located on the edge of eastern Zealand's largest high moor. The moor once provided peat for firing the large glass furnaces; today, the moor is protected by a conservation order and as a Natura 2000 area. Also experience the unique moor, with many rare species including cranberries and carnivorous plants.

The route is signposted all the way and runs primarily on gravel paths and earthen trails, but there are also sections with asphalt.
