The red sea mark Æ Kåver (Kåveren) towers 18 m above sea level and creates a contrast to the wind-swept dune landscape (also called "furry mountains") at Kåverbjerget south of Sønderho. It was originally erected in 1624 and guided sailors along the shipping lanes to Sønderho. Æ Kåver toppled in an autumn storm in 1935 but was re-erected in 2011.
