The Millennium Forest

On this route, you can experience, among other things, a new forest – the Millennium Forest – and a new natural area, which – in addition to being beautiful – can also accommodate large amounts of rainwater, helping us avoid flooding. 14 ha of new forest The forest was planted at the turn of the millennium by Allerød Municipality for recreational purposes. The 14-hectare forest is established with many different tree and shrub species. Soon, there will be plenty of elderberries, rowan berries, hazelnuts, and horse chestnuts to be harvested. The colored stakes in the forest mark running routes. Clay Pit The large lake in the Millennium Forest is the last remnant of the old clay pit, where Hammersholt Brickworks dug clay for bricks and tiles. The clay was transported to the factory via a seven-kilometer long industrial railway to Børstingerød.
