NATURE

Dybdal is an incredibly beautiful landscape pearl that, like a small valley, a meltwater valley from the last ice age, winds through the countryside. A biological island in a sea of cultivated agricultural land. In the middle of the valley, there is a completely unique nature type, namely an alder swamp, which is a very rare natural type in Europe. It can also be referred to as: "Beauty in decay." Here, only nature prevails.

ALDER SWAMP

The valley consists of a heath, which is the upper, dry part. In the bottom, there is the meadow, which is a wetland area. A percentage of Denmark's land consists of heath, but 30 percent of our plants grow here. Heath is a grassland that, in this case, has not been fertilized for a long time. This, along with grazing, creates good growth conditions for many exciting plants. A meadow can either be a "rich meadow" or a "poor meadow." In Dybdal, there is a rich meadow, which means that the meadow here receives water from "below," while a poor meadow only gets water from "above." Because it is a rich meadow, one may be lucky enough to see orchids. The orchids are of course PROTECTED and must not be picked or removed. If the area is not grazed, it will quickly become overgrown with, among other things, blackberries, willows, and hawthorn, which will overshadow the beautiful and rare orchids. Therefore, it is often seen grazing cattle in the meadow.

HISTORICAL

In Dybdal, there are three properties that are today owned by the residents of the only remaining house.

VIEWING BENCH
On this bench, one can sit down and enjoy the peace and the beautiful view over the meadow and hills.
