The route starts at Vile Church, from where you walk along Følvigvej down towards Følvig Beach. You continue through the summerhouse area to the opposite side of the spit. From here, you walk south along the beach around the spit. On the west side of the spit, you walk with the fjord on one side and the black cliffs on the other side. The cliffs at Sesterodde consist of a very black clay type called brandenler or glimmerler. From the beach, the trip returns to Vile Church along Følvigvej. The route is marked with red arrows.
Note: The route along the coast may be difficult to pass at high water levels in the fjord.
