Nature Trail Ulstrup-Vellev (8km)

There is a nice hiking trail of about 8 km in hilly terrain, connecting the towns of Ulstrup and Vellev. The path has existed for many years, and part of it is an old church path. It is marked with arrows, and there are also other signs along the way, including "dog on a leash" and "no riding allowed."

There are no actual parking spaces associated with the route, but it is possible to park at Dannebrogpladsen in Ulstrup and at Favrskov production school at Sofienlund. At Lergravssøen in Ulstrup, there is an information board and a brochure showing other routes in the area (with arrows in different colors).

The village of Vellev is situated in a landscape of clayey morainic soil, and it was established during the migration period on a morainic plateau about 60 meters above sea level. The town is a fine example of an old fort village, and the square in the middle of the town is also called the Fort.
