The route starts from the parking lot by the toilet building. From here, it stretches 4 km through Blåbjerg Plantation in the hilly terrain.
Along the route, varied forest vegetation can be experienced. The wind-swept oak thickets are part of the sand drift control that began as early as 1878. The oaks are meant to provide lasting protection against sand drift in the area. In some places, the oaks look very young, but in reality, they are branches from old trees that are buried under the added sand. The plantation also features stands of spruce and pine, which are used for timber production, but noble fir stands can also be seen. Noble fir is known from the Christmas season, where the branches are used for decorations.
Blåbjerg Plantation houses a wild population of red deer. If one is lucky, these magnificent animals can be observed in the early morning hours.
The route passes by the sculpture reliquary shrine that was installed in 1993. A sculpture that sparks the imagination.
