Everyone in Nyborg goes to "Strandvænget" - today Strandhøj. The park with fire pits and play areas borders the forest and beach. It is ideal for outings, hiking, and cycling trips. The forest contains a MTB track and a long, nice, secluded beach. Teglværksskoven is beautifully located by the Great Belt, north of Nyborg. The forest is 1.5 km long and about 600 m wide. Its age is unknown, but Eric of Pomerania donated the forest to Nyborg in 1435. Over the years, it has thus provided wood for the city's inhabitants as well as timber for Nyborg Shipyard.
