Stagehøj. The stone on the burial mound is a wild game stone. It is about 2 meters high and at the top of the stone is carved Christian VII's monogram, the year 1783.
Such stones were previously erected to mark the boundaries of the royal game reserves, which were primarily established during the reign of Frederick II (1559-1588). Through buying, selling, and exchanging land, the king amassed colossal contiguous hunting grounds where no one else but the king had hunting rights.
