Cannonboat Wars - yellow route

This beautiful route takes you around remnants from the Gunboat War, which took place from 1807-14 and was part of the Napoleonic Wars. Along the route, you will pass by Røsnæs Lighthouse, which houses an exhibition on 1,000 years of military history and offers a fantastic view of the area. Here you can experience the well-preserved Røsnæs Reef, where you can often see both porpoises and seals close to shore. The cliffs along Røsnæs have some of Denmark's most pronounced traces of meltwater rivers and tilted deposits. Most noticeable in the cliffs are the red and green plastic clay from the Tertiary period, 50 million years ago.

At high tide, paths on the beach may be flooded, but there is also the option to walk on paths above the cliffs.

The yellow hiking trail is not suitable for strollers, wheelchairs, and people with mobility issues, as there are uneven and loose surfaces, stairs, and narrow paths. The route is recommended if you are looking for a quiet and scenic path where you won’t encounter many other hikers.

At the parking lot by the Lighthouse Forest, there are toilets, picnic tables, and a grill; there are also toilets and a grill at Røsnæs Lighthouse.
