The short route features a distinct hilly landscape that was formed at the end of the last Ice Age. There are 17 large burial mounds. The largest is the 66 m high Bavnehøj. Most of the burial mounds date back to the older Bronze Age, but there are also remains of a long barrow from the Stone Age. South of the ridge lies the well-preserved passage grave Langmosehøj.
