The path passes through a protected area at the southern end of Hald Lake, which, like the rest of the area around the lake, is very varied with magnificent views and an exciting wildlife and plant life.
The lake itself was created during the last ice age and is Denmark's third-deepest, with an area of 330 hectares and a depth of 31 meters at its deepest point.
