The route goes along the old mill road beside the river valley and follows the road over the mill dam at Hammer Mill. On the west side of the river, you pass the edge of a willow swamp, a spruce plantation, and a heath-covered oak grove. Along the way, there are beautiful views of the willow-covered valley.
