Around 1960, Gandrup Brickworks began to excavate clay in the area now known as Teglværkssøerne. After the excavation was completed, the old clay pits now appear as beautiful, human-made lakes. The area offers many recreational opportunities, an exciting bird and wildlife, and varied plant growth.
There are shelter places by Teglværkssøerne and it is allowed to fish in the lakes. Several tables/benches have been set up.
