Karrebæksminde. Karrebæksminde was established in the last century as a loading area for Næstved. Today, the town is a popular excursion destination due to its cozy harbor environment and its good bathing beaches. There is plenty of life during the summer months, several campsites, and a large summer house area.

The bridge over the canal, which separates Enø from the mainland, is decorated as a grasshopper by a local artist.

Karrebæk. Karrebæksminde is largely connected to Karrebæk, which is situated high in the landscape. Along the way, there is a magnificent view over Karrebæk Fjord, which appeals to both wildlife and water sports enthusiasts.

Karrebæk Church is a good landmark. It can be seen from afar. The church was built in the 1300s in Gothic style with a double chapel and beautiful wood carvings.

Borgnakke and the ancient monuments. From Karrebæk, the country road follows over Saltø Å to Borgnakke Forest, which is a mixed deciduous forest. Here lies a group of large and well-preserved burial mounds. On the outskirts of the forest, a newly restored fortification can be seen. Along the coast, there is a well-developed reed forest, and rushes are still harvested for thatching roofs. On the beach meadows, Soløje-alant and Seline grow. Both Borgnakke Forest and the varied neighboring forest Saltø Skov are suitable for hiking.

Margrethevold is a newly restored fortification located in Borgnakke Forest right down by the fjord. Margrethevold, which is said to be named after Queen Margrethe Sprænghest, active in this area in the 1250s, is a medieval fortification, also called Borrenakken. This fortification has utilized the terrain at the outlet of Saltø Å in Karrebæk Fjord. The fort is separated from the mainland by a dug moat, and the earth from the moat has been used to raise the bank.

Borgnakke now has its own care program, especially against the growth of maple trees. This secures the earthworks of the fort and the unobstructed view from the bank over the fjord and the river.

By Borgnakke, there is a popular ice cream shop, and from here, there is a view over the fjord.

The canal. The canal was dug between 1936-38 to facilitate the navigation of large ships into Næstved. The canal was dug through first Ydernæs, across the river Even, through Indernæs, and further into the city, where old river bends were cut off. The harbor still functions as a commercial harbor, and large cargo ships can be seen daily in the harbor basin.
