Hiking route Silkeborg-Randers - The Railway Path

The hiking route/regional cycling route 29 takes you through beautiful natural areas around the Gudenå and Gjern Ådal. In the scenic Hornbæk Enge near Randers, the path rolls along a dike, bringing you very close to fish and sea eagles and more than 200 bird species. Along the path, there are clear traces of the railway such as station buildings, railway bridges (the Blue Bridge in Randers, the old railway bridge in Langå, the Remstrup bridges in Silkeborg), water towers for steam locomotives (Langå), as well as the high embankment that was necessary in several places for the railway to cross valleys and wetlands.
The railway path is a paved route where the tracks have been removed. The path connects Resenbro with Langå and passes through several forests, streams, lakes, meadows, and bogs, with a total length of approximately 34 km. Access to the path is available on foot, by bike, or on horseback.
