Ryde Plantation

When the plantation was established around the year 1900, the goal was to produce coniferous trees, but the economic basis for cultivating conifers in the low wet areas has largely disappeared. Through changes in operations, the plantation is slowly transforming from a production forest to a natural forest, with many different tree species, and a varied and rich bird and animal life.
Midway along the red route, Præstegårdsplantagen is crossed. Here, the priest in Ryde could fetch firewood for heating and cooking.
There are tables/benches by the parking lot.
Access: Ryde Plantation is located about 17 km northeast of Holstebro and about 8 km south of Vinderup. Between Holstebro and Viborg, drive on Viborgvej to Skave. 500 m east of Skave, turn north onto Sevel-vej. After about 2 km, turn northwest onto Øster Stendisvej. From there, it's about 3 km to the parking area in the western part of the plantation.
