An indicated marsh area is called a kog here in the region, and this hiking route takes you past Gammel Frederiks Kog, which was established back in 1692 and has been used for livestock grazing ever since. The route runs along the Danish-German border and on the way back along a stretch of Vidå's embankment, before you reach Rudbøl again.
The village is furthermore built on Tøndermarsk's oldest embankment from 1556 as well as on a number of embankments down to Rudbøl Lake and the Danish-German border.
Note that the terrain can be uneven on the embankment.
