Slotved Forest and Animal Park - yellow route

The yellow trail starts at the main parking lot, Astrupvej 183, 9870 Sindal. Here you will find information signs, toilets, water, and a waste container.

The trail runs largely around the deer park, and there are plenty of opportunities to see fallow deer and red deer, as well as enjoy the beautiful landscape both inside and outside the forest, the many old gnarled hardwood trees, lakes, and streams, as well as historical sites such as burial mounds and hollow ways. There are many exciting species associated with the various habitats, making Slotved an interesting place to observe species and hear the many different bird calls.

The northernmost part of the trail takes you high up and offers beautiful views as well as wind in your hair, while the southern and eastern parts of the trail are in more sheltered terrain. Note that Slotved Forest is designated as untouched forest, so the trees are allowed to stand until they fall. Therefore, be extra cautious of fallen branches and trees.

Part of the trail is gravel-covered, but since the ground is clay in several places, there can be very slippery passages when the weather is humid.

In the southern and eastern parts, there are several opportunities to take a break at table-bench sets and bonfire sites.
