Kollerup Manor Heart Path

Kollerup Manor is located north of the Lilleåen river in the wide valley east of Hadsten - high and beautiful over the Lilleå valley. The main building consists of a three-winged structure, sitting on a motte, partially surrounded by moats. The farmstead is also three-winged. Together with the main building, the farmstead forms a closed courtyard, giving the whole complex the character of a fortress. In the early 1300s, there were times of unrest in Denmark, which is why the castle, of which the earthworks still exist, provided security for the owners of that time. In 1931, Kollerup was purchased by Harald Mark, whose descendants still own and run the estate. Culturally, Kollerup Manor is located in the green and hilly Lilleådal. Numerous finds from the Stone, Bronze, and Iron Ages testify to lively human activity at and around Kollerup. The Vikings used the area and built a castle on the site. Remains of this castle have been found near Kollerup Møllekro.
