Rindby Beach

The beach is a piece of dynamic nature that is constantly changing.

It is allowed to drive on the beach between Fanø Bad and Sønderho. The speed limit is 30 km/h.

The beach is Fanø's largest playground. There is space for all kinds of activities.

Swimming is of course one of the attractive things about the beach. The best place for swimming is the stretch between Fanø Bad and Rindby Strand.

The beach is very wide in this stretch, and each year it becomes even wider. Therefore, a new row of dunes is now being formed in the middle of the beach. This is how Fanø has developed over the last many hundreds of years. West of the new dune row is a fantastic bathing beach.

There are plenty of other activities on the beach. Here we fly kites, play football, volleyball, pole tennis, and much more.

South of Rindby is the activity area commonly referred to as buggy beach. Here you can surf, and especially kite surfers are fond of the sea at Fanø. You can also drive with beach sailers, i.e., blokart, kite-buggy, and landboard.

Further south, the beach becomes narrower and narrower, but conversely very wide at low tide. It is especially in this part of the beach where you can find amber.

Swimming advice

It is lovely to swim in the North Sea, and the beach at Fanø has no stones and is generally very child-friendly. The sea is also a powerful natural force that requires us to approach it with reason and respect.

At the Fanø Tourist Office, you can get the small brochure "The Sea Can Take You by Surprise," which provides good advice on swimming.

At Rindby Strand, there is a lifeguard station in summer. They cannot monitor the entire 15 km long beach, but they are aware of what is happening on the beach and can respond quickly if something should happen.
