There are two villages in Denmark that are built directly on top of dykes. On this tour, you will pass both of them. Before the Tøndermarsk was drained, there were generally very few places to settle, but Rudbøl and Nørremølle were high enough above the sea that otherwise came right in here. Along the route, you walk on the Danish-German border along the historic Gendarm Path and can look out at Gammel Frederiks Kog with its countless green banks. From Nørremølle, you walk back to Rudbøl on the dyke.
Note that the terrain on the dykes can be uneven.
