Here, nature offers many experiences and a rich wildlife. Among the lush deciduous trees, you can experience forest areas that have remained untouched for many years.
The forest also contains many cultural relics. For example, the old troll tree, the king's oak, remnants of the old forest warden's residence, and of course, the Waterworks Lake. From here, Donbækken supplied Frederikshavn with water until 1992.
Today, the lake still lies there and serves as a recreational oasis in the forest.
There are marked two routes in the forest. The approximately 3 km long round trip is marked with a blue arrow and covers most of the Waterworks Forest. The King's Path, an 8 km long route marked in green, also passes by.
Furthermore, the local bike route Green Tour goes through the area.
It is allowed to drive on the through gravel road. However, it is one-way - enter from the north on Brønderslevvej.
