The area around Knivholt Forest is a popular destination due to its location close to Frederikshavn and the good facilities at the manor. There are shelters, picnic rooms, campfire sites, etc. There are plenty of opportunities to experience bats, wood pigeons, and roe deer. Knivholt Forest has had many purposes, including for the occupying power during World War II, and before that for the residents of the manor. Therefore, there are many constructed roads/trails and generally good conditions for movement around the area. The heart path can be shortened along the way, the surface is firm and even, and there are no hills on the route.
