The route goes through Palsgård Forest's largest area of deciduous forest. It is located around the former forest ranger's estate, Vester Palsgård, which was originally an old heath farm. The oldest beech trees are just over 100 years old. The old trees house green woodpeckers, black woodpeckers, and many other hole-nesting birds. North of the fields by the forest ranger's estate are the remnants of a nursery. On the gable of one of the small red nursery houses is a slice of Palsgård Forest's largest tree, a Sitka spruce. It was 38.8 meters tall and fell during a storm on November 21, 1981. The largest measurement of the root disc is 3.2 x 1.7 meters.
