Trip on Engvejen, Vester Velling

Revived path.

In the old days, there was lively traffic on Engvejen between Vester Velling

and Nørreådalen. Livestock were driven to and from the farms and the

lush meadows in the valley, and hay was transported up to the farms.

After many years in obscurity, Engvejen has been revived again. With support

from the owners and assistance from the Outdoor Council, the path was restored in 2019 –

as a valuable cultural heritage and for the enjoyment of the residents of Vester

Velling, who can now easily take a trip down to the valley.

From the bench, there is a beautiful view over the valley with the church in Ålum in

the background. And if you sit still, there is a great chance of experiencing

wildlife.

Also try to let your thoughts fly back to the time when the valley

echoed with people harvesting hay. Or imagine the future, where

the valley might look completely different than today?
