Vissing Enge

Vissing Enge is a wetland a couple of kilometers northwest of Hadsten Town, bordered by Hadstenvej, Vissingvej, and the railway to the south. The meadow covers 21 hectares, of which about eight hectares are always flooded. The flooded area is largest in winter and smallest in summer.

It is possible to take a walk on the path from the parking lot at Vissingvej and along the northern side of the area past the birdwatching tower and up to the railway. There are picnic tables where you can enjoy your packed lunch halfway along the route by the lake. You can park at the two parking lots in the area – one is located west of Vissingvej, another south of Hadstenvej.

You can encounter several birds in the area: Whooper Swan, Mute Swan, Barnacle Goose, Brent Goose, Greylag Goose, Common Eider, Mallard, Teal, Merlin, Lapwing, and Skylark. In the surroundings south of the area runs Lilleå, which is one of Denmark's best river systems for salmon fish.
