TRACK – Path to a new Lake in Vivild

In the fall of 2023, Aqua Djurs began to create a new lake near Vivild.

The lake has been constructed as a retention lake for rainwater, etc., from Vivild. A drainage ditch from the old dairy in Vivild to a ditch in Vivild meadows, from which the water flowed on to Hevring Å, was back in the 1960s laid in large concrete pipes. This concrete pipe was removed in the area where the lake emerged, so that there was still an inlet through the old concrete pipe from the town, but now the water flows into the lake via an outlet to the stream to Hevring Å. The outlet is controlled via a level tank at the western end of the lake.

With help from the association Vivild Med Vilje, an application was prepared in the spring of 2024 to the Nordea Foundation - Her Gror Vi fund for support for the project Vivild Vildere Sammen, focusing on communication about and biodiversity in the area around the lake. In April 2024, the Nordea Foundation granted money for the project.

In June 2024, the Vivild Citizens' Association was granted usage permission from Aqua Djurs for the area around the lake. Following this, paths were established around the lake, as well as a resting area.

On August 12, there was an official inauguration of the lake and the start of the project Vivild Vildere Sammen.
