TRAIL - Trail Around Knolden

Introduction – A bit about Knolden. Flemming Kirkegaard wrote in the 50th anniversary publication of Vivild Sports Association. Long before Vivild Sports Association saw the light of day in 1939, football was played in the town and surrounding area. Sometimes people played on grassy fields outside the town, but often they played at "Knolden" southeast of Vivild.

Here was a piece of permanent grass that the youth had more or less officially been allowed to use for ball games. However, there was still a longing for a "proper" sports field – "Knolden was not flat and even, and there were often problems with the owner – so in 1939 the parish council bought a piece of land at the western end of the town. Here, the sports association was allowed to create a sports field. This area is now the town's square for the summer festival, a synthetic football field has been established, and in 1987, two tennis courts were made. The area around Knolden was purchased in 2010 by Birte and Kurt Anthonsen, who kindly opened the forest so we could create the path to Knolden. The first part of the path and the direct path down to Hevring Å is owned by Helle and Martin Boye.
