Ådal Trail by Flyndersø

The Ådal Trail winds 3.5 kilometers around the Stubber Å along the slopes. The route takes you over bog and grassland, along the vast heath areas and through the old oak thicket with its twisted oak trees. From viewpoints, you can see Flyndersø stretching over 8 km to the north, where it flows into the Karup Å.

Along the way, you pass several "dead ice holes" formed at the end of the Ice Age. Each dead ice hole marks where the ice left behind a massive block of ice while the ice cap melted away. Flyndersø is formed by a series of connected dead ice holes.

There is a rich bird and animal life around Flyndersø. If you are lucky, you might see the sea eagle hunting over the lake, a lizard basking in the sun, or deer searching for food. You may also come across traces of otters. The trail is a nature path that crosses animal fences at three points. The animals are friendly and used to people. There are tables and benches in the parking area.

Access: From Sevel, drive northeast along Søgårdvej. After a few kilometers, turn left onto Gl. Skivevej. The parking area is on the left after a few hundred meters.
