Haarby Wetland Area (2.2 km)

The wide river valley north of Haarby hides a lovely natural gem accessible to the public. A marked hiking trail of 2.2 km takes you through a varied landscape - on a boardwalk over wet meadows and the beautifully meandering Haarby River, through moist thickets, living hedges, and Haarby's small alleys. The hiking route passes the broad river valley, where livestock now graze the meadows. Since the renaturalization of Haarby River in 2014, shallow ponds have emerged on the meadow. From the birdwatching tower, you can observe the birdlife.

The hiking route crosses private land, where the landowners have kindly allowed public access. Therefore, please stick to the established paths and field roads. If you come by car, you can park at Rema 1000 on Algade. If you arrive by bike or on foot, there is access to the wetland area from Holmevej and Linien.
